'Flawed' £2 Charles Dickens coins are seemingly a collector's dream after two have been sold for £3,500 on eBay.
The coins, which were first produced in 2012, feature a side-profile of Dickens made out of the titles of his most famous novels.

However, the ones that will earn you the big bucks have 'minting errors' on them.

The silver inner part of the coin will feature small, raised dots around the outside of the image of the Queen, but halfway round these ridges will disappear.

The Royal Mint issued these coins in 2012 to mark the 200th anniversary of 'one of Britain's finest writers'.

Biography Charles Dickens
This coin celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens.
The reverse, designed by Matthew Dent, shows a profile outline of Charles Dickens, facing left, created from the titles of Dickens’ famous works. The inscription '1812 CHARLES DICKENS 1870' is to left.
The edge is milled and inscribed 'SOMETHING WILL TURN UP'. The phrase comes from Wilkins Micawber, a fictional character in Dickens' 1850 novel, David Copperfield.
The obverse is the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
Mintage: 8,190,000 (may include coins issued as part of a set).

Queen Elizabeth II has issued many coins and was monarch during decimalisation.
There has been other two pound coins. From 1823 until 1996 they made occasional appearances and the double-sovereign has a two pound value. Commemorative two pound coins were issued from 1986 to 1996. This article is primarily concerned with the circulating coins of 1997 onwards.

Formed in the reign of Alfred the Great about the year 886, during the period 1279-1812 it was generally referred to as The Tower Mint as it was housed at the Tower of London. The Master of The Royal Mint has included famous figures such as Sir Isaac Newton.
Since 2010 it has operated as Royal Mint Ltd, a company owned by HM Treasury, under an exclusive contract to supply all coinage for the UK although it also produces medals and coins for other countries. It is currently located at Llantrisant, Wales.
